'You have a what?' That's what most people ask when I mention that I have my own Web site. Sometimes, if they don't explode in bouts of milk-through-the-nose-snorting laughter, I explain my purpose out here on this world wide web thingy. 'What for?' This site is purely for my whimsical pursuit of learning about new technologies and writing killer code. It was created a long time ago, but has only recently seen major renovations. I created it about five years ago when I should have been working on other things and now I spruce it up a bit from time to time when I should be working on other things. And maybe, just maybe, this is all just another effort to slightly impress someone. 'Why am I here?' Maybe you're here because I begged you to check it out. Maybe you're here to find out more, to see some purty pictures, or to just laugh at me. Cheers! |

If you've read anything at all about Content Management Systems (CMS), you'll probably know at least three things: CMS are the most exciting way to do business, CMS can be really, I mean really, complicated and lastly Portals are absolutely, outrageously, often unaffordably expensive.
Example Caption Joomla! is set to change all that ... Joomla! is different from the normal models for portal software. For a start, it's not complicated. Joomla! has been developed for the masses. It's licensed under the GNU/GPL license, easy to install and administer and reliable. Joomla! doesn't even require the user or administrator of the system to know HTML to operate it once it's up and running. |
